The 70th Celebration of the Auspicious Occasion of the Independence Day of Indonesia

In August 17, 2015, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka and RRI World Service Voice of Indonesia DXER’s Forum in Bangladesh celebrated the auspicious occasion of the 70^th Independence Day of Indonesia.

The celebration started with a flag-raising ceremony at 08:00 AM, which was attended by local staffs and Indonesian citizens in Dhaka. Also present was Voice of Indonesia DXER’s Forum in Bangladesh President & Wonderful Indonesia International Quiz 2012 Winner Mr. Didarul Iqbal, Organizing Secretary Md. Mahababur Rahman, Cultural Secretary Taslima Akter Lima, Member Titu Mir, Advisory Committee Member Mr. Md. Osman Ghani and others.

The ceremony was led by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia H.E. Mr. Iwan Wiranata-atmadja as the ceremony inspector. The flag was raised by the members of the Flag Hoisting Squad (Paskibra).

After the flag-raising ceremony, H.E. Mr. Iwan Wiranata-atmadja Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka exchanged greetings with the all guests and all participants took picture with the ceremony inspector and all other ceremonial officer. Subsequently, the embassy expressed its gratefulness to the moment of independence by cutting a cake and a tumpeng as a symbol. The Ambassador Mr. Iwan Wiranata-atmadja and his wife was cutting cake and distributed among officials.

After the symbolic cutting cake, various Indonesian traditional sports were organized. Such as Coconut Shell Walking, Sack Race, Egrang and Balloon Dance. Ambassador Mr. Iwan Wiranata-atmadja also took part in a sack race. At the end of play, all guests took part in the musical dance. The program was ended with the distribution of prizes among the winners. Voice of Indonesia DXER’s Forum President Mr. Didarul Iqbal was winning the 3rd prize of the Sack Race. Taslima Akhter Lima received the award on his behalf from the ambassador.

Not only that, the ambassador handed over the some complimentary gifts to the all children’s of the celebratory occasion. The Ambassador was given a gift to Taslima Akhter Lima’s son labib Iqbal. Labib Iqbal’s just 11 months old. He is the youngest baby of the participating in the celebratory occasion. Our expectations, Labib Iqbal will made an next generation captive audience of the Voice of Indonesia!  

Another attraction of the events, on the occasion of the 70th Independence Day of Indonesia on behalf of the RRI World Service Voice of Indonesia DXER’s Forum of Bangladesh President Mr. Didarul Iqbal and Cultural Secretary Ms. Taslima Akhter Lima handed over a wonderful Stitching Work “Greetings Gift” to the his Excellency Mr. Iwan Wiranata-atmadja, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia in Dhaka, Bangladesh. His Excellency Ambassador highly praise to the crafts and thanked to the VOI listeners’ forum members.

All participants then together enjoyed buffet lunch.

Programs of Voice of Indonesia DXER’s Forum of Bangladesh are as follows;-

a)            Inauguration of DX-ing Exhibition of Voice of Indonesia DXER’s Forum of Bangladesh- by the honorable Ambassador, Republic of Indonesia in Bangladesh.

There will be a power point presentation on the campaign for the “Wonderful Indonesia Brand” and many others.

We hope, this exhibition well promote and strengthen the cultural and educational ties between Bangladesh and Indonesia.
