Mohammad Didarul Alam, the founding chairman
and radio activist of the largest radio listener organization South Asia Radio
Club (SARC) Bangladesh, has received the "Sher-e-Bangla Golden
Award-2025" for his special contribution to social service.
He is known in the media as Didarul Iqbal
(S21DAL - Sierra Two One Delta Alpha Lima).
He was presented with the medal at a
discussion meeting titled "Sher-e-Bangla's Active Life" and a
reception for distinguished personalities organized by the Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul
Haque Research Council at the Segunbagicha Central Kachi-Kachha Auditorium in
Dhaka on Friday.
The program was organized on the occasion of
the 152nd birth anniversary of Sher-e-Bangla's national leader AK Fazlul Haque.
The award was presented by the great freedom
fighter Mir Hasmat Ali, a judge of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, and the
grandson of Sher-e-Bangla, former Information Secretary and the first chairman
of BTRC, and the organization's chief advisor Syed Margub Morshed.
Didarul Iqbal (S21DAL) is a professional
social worker, organizer and radio activist. He is working to improve the
quality of life of the poor and marginalized people living in rural areas,
remote areas, urban-port and slum areas through SARC Bangladesh, utilizing the
information and inspiration he has received from various radio programs in the
country and abroad. Through various social and cultural activities, he is contributing
to bringing about positive changes in society by creating public awareness,
exchanging developmental information and knowledge, and providing important
information related to government and private services.
Didarul Iqbal was honored with the
"Sherre Bangla Golden Award-2025" by the Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul
Haque Smriti Parishad for his contribution in providing radio information to
the society and leading the society towards conscious and positive change.
Former Secretary Syed Margub Morshed presided
over the program. Justice Mir Hasmat Ali, a freedom fighter, spoke as the chief
guest at the program. The main discussant was Professor Mohammad Ahsan Ullah,
Vice Chancellor and Treasurer of Ibais University.
Among the recipients of the Sher-e-Bangla
Golden Award 2025, Didarul Iqbal (S21DAL), Principal of Shariatpur Jazeera
Girls School and College M. A. Matin, and Principal of Barisal BM College,
Professor Dr. Sheikh M. Tajul Islam spoke.
The special guests were the Secretary of
X-Forces Association, Lieutenant Saifullah Khan Saif (retd), Advisor of Asia
Swapnapuri Foundation, Md. Mosharraf Hossain, Executive Director of DCI Dhaka,
Fakhrul Ferdous, Managing Director of Iqray.com, HM Mushfiqul Alam.
The Vice President of the organization, Md.
R. K. Ripon, delivered the welcome speech and Secretary General, M. H. Arman
Chowdhury, delivered the welcome speech. The program was moderated by the
Advisor of the organization and Chairman of Bangladesh National Human Rights
Association, Md. Manjur Hossain Isa, and presenter of Bangladesh Television
(BTV) and ATN Bangla, Tania Afrin.
