South Asia Radio Club (SARC) Bangladesh, one
of the country’s leading Radio listeners’ organizations that has won multiple
national and international awards, has won the prestigious ‘Star Bangladesh
Award 2026’ in unique recognition of its work. The club was awarded this
prestigious award in the 'Best Active Radio Listener Club' category for its
contribution in listening to programs on various international Radio stations,
including the country's national broadcaster Bangladesh Betar, encouraging the
ignorant, backward and information-deprived groups of the grassroots of society
to listen to Radio programs, increasing social awareness to improve their
quality of life, and maintaining dynamism in the listeners’ organization.
The club’s Founder Chairman Didarul Iqbal
(S21DAL), the club’s central leaders, officers, general members, leaders of
various units and well-wishers, and all concerned expressed deep joy, pride and
honor over this colorful achievement.
In a statement, the club's Chairman Didarul
Iqbal (S21DAL) said, "This award is a unique reflection of our
long-standing collective efforts, dedication and love for Radio culture. This
honor has further increased our responsibility. In the coming days, we will
continue our activities to make this medium of information, education, health
and entertainment more popular among the common people."
It is worth noting that the South Asia Radio
Club (SARC) Bangladesh has been working for a long time to increase the

Not only that, it has been playing an essential role in increasing social awareness by organizing constructive discussions, yard meetings, workshops and exhibitions on social development activities such as education, child marriage, dowry, drugs, women and child protection, sexual violence, climate, disasters, tree plantation, nature and environment, agriculture, health, nutrition, personal hygiene, etc., as well as distributing relief and medicine, blood donation, distributing educational materials, distributing sewing machines, distributing Radios, assistance in obtaining government and private services and regularly organizing various programs on important social issues.
Those concerned expressed the hope that this
national recognition at the initiative of a private organization will further
accelerate the future journey of the club.
The award was presented at a grand cultural
program including the "Star Bangladesh Award 2026 (Season-2)" and a
fashion show jointly organized on the occasion of the 1st Anniversary of Star
Bangladesh Media and the 5th Anniversary of Bangladesh Mofossol Journalists
Society (BMSS) at the Central Kochi-Kachar Mela Auditorium in Segunbagicha,
Dhaka on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
The award was received by club member poet
and lyricist Swarna Talukder on behalf of South Asia Radio Club (SARC)
Bangladesh. Present at the event were Secretary General of the central club Nur
Mohammed, President of South Asia Radio Club (SARC)- Sirajganj District Unit
Md. Ariful Islam, Shakya Barua, Mohammad Akter Hossain, Anindya Barua Swapnil
and others.
The father of martial arts in Bangladesh film
industry and popular actor, producer and director Master Jahangir Alam was
present as the chief guest at this grand award ceremony and cultural event,
while popular film director, writer and television presenter Debashish Biswas
was present as the special guest.
Also present at the event were prominent
personalities including popular film actress of the 90s Mashuka Nasrin Raka,
film and advertisement producer Jamb's Kajal. The event was presided over by
Khandaker Asifur Rahman Tota, Chairman of Bangladesh Mofossol Journalists
Society and CEO of Star Bangladesh Media.
